Killing people in wheelchairs? Terrorists do that for the terror value

Israel may be small, but it is an advanced first-world country that understands the importance of social media and affecting world opinion. I receive posts on a regular basis, usually several times daily, with photos of the Israelis who were killed in the October 7 attack and photos of the Hamas leaders who Israel has taken out.

This photo of two of the Israeli victims that came in yesterday was particularly horrifying. Killing wheelchair-bound girls? What possible sense is there in that, unless the killers are barbarians?

But it’s not the first time.

Read about Leon Klinghoffer, who was killed in his wheelchair on a cruise ship in 1985 when Palestinian terrorists took over the cruise ship Achille Lauro. Klinghoffer, who was an American citizen and World War II veteran, flew combat missions over Germany during the war. He survived World War II but fell to terrorists attacking a cruise ship. Quoting one of the terrorists: “I chose Klinghoffer, an invalid, so that they would know that we had no pity for anyone.” Should it surprise us that Abu Abbas, the Palestinian terrorist mastermind behind the killing of Klinghoffer, fled to Gaza as a safe refuge from prosecution?

It might be good to read about the way Nazi eugenic theories advocated killing of disabled people…
